Swedish Massage focuses of the manual manipulation of soft tissue to relieve tension and encourage whole body relaxation.

Connective Tissue/Deep Tissue Massage introduces freer movement, and relief from postural habits by means of lengthening, spreading, and differentiating the many compartments of tissue throughout the body. This type of work is generally slow: addressing the structure of the client at the deeper level.

Prenatal Massage offers specific techniques that apply directly to the pregnant mother-to-be that encourages full body relaxation and the release of pain/tightness in all of areas that are usually overtaxed during this transitional time. It’s a wonderful way to nurture the baby and keep the mother balanced, healthy, and relaxed at a time when it is most important for her to be.

is an external, non-invasive manipulation which repositions reproductive organs and also improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen.

Deep Tissue Massage is on a continuum with Swedish Massage. Every deep tissue massage begins with Swedish techniques such as effleurage and petrissage. These long and more superficial strokes warm-up the soft tissue and elicit a relaxation response.

The treatment can continue in this fashion or it can become deeper and more specific. Deep tissue massage involves sustained direct pressure on specific sites of spasm called trigger points, deep friction of tendons and slow, deep stretching of the fascia, all designed to return tight and injured muscles to their normal resting length. The result is a reduced pain and an increase in ease and range of motion, not to mention: improved sleep, improved athletic performance, less risk of injury during exertion, increased body awareness and an increased sense of well-being.

Treatments are in 30, 60 and 90 minute increments. Massage has a cumulative affect. For acute and chronic conditions best results are obtained with treatments scheduled 1-2 times per week for the first 2-4 weeks then less frequently as your condition improves. Once a month or even seasonal adjustments are adequate for maintenance and simple enjoyment.

Reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all parts of the body. Reflexology stimulates deep relaxation, normalizing and balancing the whole body. It is helpful with hypertension, PMS, anxiety, and painful conditions of the body as well as the obvious: SORE FEET! You recline fully clothed on a massage table while the reflexologist applies precise pressure to hands and feet to release the blockages that cause pain and disease and inhibit the free flow of energy. Reflexology is for people of all ages and can be done weekly for chronic conditions. Reflexology is gentle yet profound and is ideal for people too ill or weak too tolerate a full body treatment.

There are 7200 nerve endings in each foot which have an extensive interconnection to all areas of the body via the spinal cord and brain. The reflexologist works to break-up lactic acid and calcium crystals that accumulate around this multitude of nerve endings. The pressure is believed to effect internal organs and glands by stimulating reflex points of the body. It is a safe and simple way to induce relaxation and a genuine sense of well-being.

In addition to office treatments, Prashanti Massage is available for at-home visits and on-site Chair Massage.

At-home visits are permitted after the client visits the office for the first session and both parties have met. When receiving a therapeutic massage at home one can choose from a 60 minute session or a 90 minute session for themselves or to be shared with a loved one simultaneously. That’s right, you can have a side-by-side massage with your partner, child, parent or friend right in the comfort of your own home!

On-site Chair Massage is the perfect solution for any Human Resource department wanting to introduce a new wellness program, or by showing your staff that their efforts are appreciated thus increasing morale.
